I noticed the rivets on the roof that secure the hanging locker/closet in our 13ft Scamp squished water when I pushed on them. I pulled off the caulk and pulled them out, there were no acorn nuts on the inside(?). I'm about to go to Ace to see if I can find Butyl tape and SS screws ... my question is what size of screws do you suggest? I'm going to take the rivet with me and try to match the size if no one knows. Then I'm going to try the butyl tape/drill suggestion. My next question is, the snap caps seem to have two pieces involved, the actual cap part but also a plastic washer thing that is around the top of the rivet that the cap goes over ... should I pry those off the rivets and reuse them on the screws?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions. This is our first summer with the Scamp and we are in love with it and want to take good care of it!
What color of off-white did you order? I've got a 2001 that's spent it's live in AZ and Colorado. Also, what size hole in the washers from Pro Dec for the 3/16 rivets? 5/32 or 1/4?
Do you know what size hole on the washers. Seems like 5/32 might be too small for the 3/16 rivet. So I'm thinking the 1/4". Does your invoice say by chance? On the smaller snap there is no choice of hole size....
The 12/2 accomodates: Fits #10, #12, #14, M5 and M6 fasteners Outside Diameter: 5/8" which takes care of all the larger rivet sizes on the Scamp.
The 8/8 Fits #6, #8, M3 and M4 fasteners Outside Diameter: 1/2" which takes care of the 1/8" rivets.
The hole on the bases has cuts and is flexible to expand to whichever size you are using.
I have not done a 16 Scamp, but these are the only sizes needed for a 13 Scamp and a 19 Scamp. Can't figure a 16 uses anything different. Just have to get your counts on each size to order.
We're not on the same page. I understand the two sized of caps. The flat bottom snap cap washers you order for the large (12/2) caps have different holes sizes available. What size hole that the rivet will actually go thru did you order? There's 3 different hole sizes: 3/32", 5/32" or 1/4".
Were the 12/12 FB's ok? I would have thought at 3/32" that would be really tight. I was thinking at least 5/32 for the 3/16" (6/32") rivet. Sorry to keep bugging you. I really do appreciate your knowledge since you've been down this road before.
Never had an issue with the 12/12 FB fitting any of the larger rivets even when I redid the 13 Scamp with all SS bolts and nuts instead of rivets. I like the tighter fit on the 3/16 as it completes a better seal and then with the butyl those babies never leak.

Hi Steve,
I order 12/12 Bases and Caps for the larger rivets and 8/8 bases and caps for the 1/8" and smaller rivets like the curtain rods.
Color I do is off-white which is 12/12-106 and 8/8 -106 according to my invoice.

Sorry, never really looked beyond the #10 size which would be the first one. 12/12-FB and the 8/8-FB for #6 and #8
