Does anyone use the Anderson hitch for the 5th wheel Scamps? Lots of people on the Escape site seem to favor them. I havn't read of any Scamps using these but just starting to research Scamp 5th wheels.

Anderson hitch
I'd call Anderson and ask.Do they install a 2" ball? Scamp is already an elevated ball hitch but they have no height information.
My bad. I thought Scamps had regular 5th wheel pin type setups. No reason to use Anderson I guess if the Scamp has a ball setup. This is all new to me, researching all the FG 5th wheels.
Thanx for your input!

I have seen conflicting info about proper ball height for a Scamp 19. I've seen specs and posts that vary between 40" and 45" height from the ground. I know there are variables (lift kits, those measuring to the base of the ball vs. those measuring to the top of the ball, etc.). This Scamp hitch setup is so unique, I would appreciate it if those of you with real world experience could look at the proposed plan and tell if it is an option before I start spending money. I'd also appreciate feedback on the proposed ball locations options; I want to ensure I clear bumper and can open tailgate.
I realize it's not likely an economical option unless your tow vehicle is already equipped with a gooseneck. Thank you for your assistance, it is appreciated.
I believe Anderson uses a 2-5/16" ball for their set up. Scamp uses a 2" ball mount. The Scamp mount would not properly fit a standard Anderson ball!

Andersen Hitch can be used to pull a Scamp 19. This set up allows me to pull a gooseneck, 5th wheel, or a stock Scamp 19 and ALL equipment can be removed from the bed in less than 90 seconds. The Andersen Hitch moves quickly from the shorter Dakota pickup, to the taller F150. Ball height is adjustable. There are two different Andersen Ultimate Hitches. The dimensions listed in the above communication are for the traditional taller Ultimate hitch. This would be good for setting up a half ton and a 3/4 ton to attach a trailer at the same height. Andersen released a new lower profile Ultimate hitch this year that is perfect for the low height of the 1989 Dakota to a taller height of a 2018 Ford F-150. As stated in my original communication, you take the stock Andersen 2 5/16" ball to a machine shop and have it turned down to 2". This is only an economical option if your tow vehicles are already outfitted with gooseneck hitches.
