Changing bed orientation?

Hi everyone...newbie still in the market for a great starter trailer. I hear a rumor that the 19' Standard loft bed can possibly be modified to make it a foot entry bed, therefore a bit wider and a bit longer. Is this true? Two of our non-negotiables are a 60" or wider bed and a bed that is NOT side entry (meaning I would have to climb over the hubs to get in and out of bed). None of the current floorplans meet those two requirements, but if the fifth wheel bed with side bath COULD be turned...then maybe. Eager to hear (and especially see) what ideas you all have!

Thanks!

Jackie

steps

Turning the bed around is not too difficult with a little wood working skill and a sheet of plywood. I built steps that set on the bench and extended the upper deck to about 75". A full 54" mattress will fit between the side opening supports.  This gives you a place to put stuff beside the mattress in the upper deck. One person installed a 60" queen but major changes to the opening supports were required. Some have made side supports and keep the goucho back raised but it's a big drop to the floor. The 54" full worked best for us even though we had a queen bed in our house.

Steps

A friend of mine did as ELongest mentioned above. made steps to get up and down. He made cabinets as extensions for the bed to fit front to rear. They both love that you don't climb over one or the other. Steps do not interfere with side bath or door
