We're picking up our Scamp 5th wheel next month from the factory. Never been in or seen one in real life. So I wonder, how well do th front jack legs work. Do I need to put something under then so they don't sink into the ground and do I need to put chucks and levelers on the tires. I have never had to level a 5th wheel before. Thanks again in advance, I can't wait till I get out there and learn so I can share with others as well.
Thanks so much!

Welcome Barry and Gina,
Congratulations on your new scamp. You will find that they are very easy to pull and even easier to maneuver.
I don't know if you have any trailer experience, so forgive me if I go into too much detail. The leveling procedure is the same whether you are in a 5th wheel or a bumper pull. The only difference is the location of the ball. First level the trailer side to side while still hooked up to the tow vehicle. I use an Anderson leveler but have used 2x6 blocks which work well also. There are others methods, these are the ones I am familiar with. I always chock the wheels (front and back) in case it rolls. Leave the chains hooked up until last in case of roll. I've the trailer roll a couple of inches but have never lost control. I place 4x6x12 blocks under the pads. The pads are large so I'm not positive the blocks are necessary, but I have them so I use them. Now raise the front of the trailer until you can clear the ball. Now unhook the 12v cable, lower the tailgate unhook the chains and drive out from under it. Lower the front end until it is slightly below level. Lower and snug your stabilizer pads and raise the front end to level. Done!!!
I hope you enjoy your 19 as much as we have enjoyed ours. Be ready for impromptu tours as all scamps get a lot of attention. I've made a lot of new friends this way. I hope to run into you sometime as we tour part of the pacific coast every year.
