LED taillights replacement

Not comfortable with light output of original taillights on my 2005 Scamp 13 ft. Any ideas?

Are the fixtures in good shape? Just change the lamp. Lower cost and less work.

Search your lamp number + led, like 1157 LED. I changed ALL of them on mine. The tail/stop were ordered as red to get better color.

Brighter Tail Lights

You can replace the entire fixtures with new ones designed around high light output leds, as many auto makers have done, or it is possible to substitute higher light output leds for the the bulbs in your existing fixtures. They are available but not easy to find. I tried some from the auto parts store that weren't as bright as the bulbs I had on my '06. I finally found some online that I'm happy with, but only after checking light output charts and spec sheets.

Color important

You have the right idea with color . It is critical to match the LED color to the lens color. Or much of the light output actually gets filtered by the lens.  White works but poorly  and looks pink in a red lens. . I changed all the outside lights on my 2019 to LED from incandescent and love the result.  But it took two tries to find a bulb that acted best with the lens. Or you may en up with just a bright spot in the center and hard to see in the sunlight.

One more lamp thing

Grease the base of the lamp. The lamps below were in a new Scamp for less than one year.

Dielectric Tune-Up Grease protects electrical connections and wiring from salt, dirt and corrosion.
