I,was told that the wheels do not even have to be off the ground, just enough to relax the axle and trailing struts. I shall use jack stands to keep the trailer at the proper height.
I did the same thing Doug when i lived back east.... tires went on a piece of treated 2x6 and raised it enough to relieve pressure off the torsion axles (1/2 way between full load and off the ground) and reduced tire pressure to 10 lbs and then covered them from the sun
Hi Joe, just got back from Nashville for our car club weekend there, a long 4 day weekend. It was a blast! Great folks, good food,, good runs with one of our Miatas. Good to be home now. Yes, winter storage coming up in November for us. RV center here in town doing it. Then back to my father in laws house for the duration of the long and dreaded winter. I shall have the trailer jacked up and resting on jack stands. I too shall have the tires taken down to 10 psi. I also shall get tire covers as well.
I didn't use an ac cover the full cover does the job....That is a tight closed up space....If you get an ac cover your best bet is to get something that breathes so you don't wind up with condensation buildup and related rust issues.something like a cotton duct up to sunbrella will work.....I used to fabricate boat tops and winter covers in a past life :)..... most anything works on Scamps full covers because air gets in from the bottom.
It would be better covered, My first cover was a furniture blanket over the sharp edges and a Harbor Freight "tarp" over that. It will only last one year but they are cheap. I also put a brace inside to support the roof snow load. Snow it self is not bad but it soaks up the spring rain like a sponge. My second was a Calmark cover, best out there but pricey. Later I put up a round top shelter for an event I was planning and the Scamp now spends winter in that.
Been reading all the posts about winterizing. We have a 13' 2020 scamp with bathroom and shower. Live in NYC so winter temps vary, not always getting to freezing that often. This is our first winter after using the scamp for first times this past Spring and Summer
Any opinions about airing out lines vs. RV anti-freeze ( or using both) are welcome. Been reading about emptying the hot water heater . We do have a shutoff valve to the heater to keep out the antifreeze if we use it. Do people take out the anode rod anyway?
Also interested in how people flush out the anti-freeze in the system for use in the Spring. (Where is it okay to dump this stuff)

Is it necessary to purchase a cover for the roof top AC unit on a trailer that will be stored outside through the winter?

Scamp 13 front Bunk
A full cover is my choice, however, I may also get a AC coverts well. I feel it would be a very good idea.

Good tips on the AC cover. I shall not get one now. I will just cover the entire trailer.

Can you store outside in winter?
