Wind Generators?

Has anyone used a wind generator to maintain batteries while boondocking? It seems like it would work. There are several different brands that put out around 400 watts priced in the $200 to $300 dollar range. I think it would be fairly simple to have it set up so that it would be easy to take down for traveling. A removable stand/tower and a quick connect for the battery.

Your thoughts?

Wind Gen

I have seen this done with some sticky trailers, but not sure how it would work. Solar panels, roof mount or portable (even better for Scamps), would seem to be an easier approach with better production, but I’d love to see someone do this project and document it. I looked at this years ago and did think about it, but the portable solar panels won out.

There is a telescoping flag pole that mounts in a hitch receiver if the rear Scamp bumper is equipped with a receiver that might be a good solution for the pole. Wind units have to get up in the air pretty high to work well, so it would probably need a guy system. Hookup should be easy enough and hook to battery similar to solar.
