What type converter copper wire?

I'm replacing 2005 American 2000XL converter with PD4135. The old wires to battery from converter were 12 gauge THHN/THWN copper wires and found out they are residential conduit wires. I need to wire PD4135 with 8 gauge copper so do I use conduit wires or primary or marine wires?

Battery wires...

I prefer marine wire with a 105 C temperature rating, Ancor is a good brand.  Primary wire is typically automotive, and SAE has a bit smaller wire for the same size gauge if I remember right.  THHN is 90 C rated, but 105 C rated obviously can carry more amps before overheating the insulation.  The temp rating is printed on the insulation, usually quite poorly, and never where you look first...

On a side note, my 2021 came with #12 (105 C rated) from both the battery and converter to the DC fuse panel, and I upped the size to #10 in most of it to get less voltage drop.
