Washing the cushions fabric in a Scamp ?

Does anyone know if the cushions in the Scamp are washable in a front loading machine and line dried?

Depends

The age and condition of the cushion covers will be a deciding factor on washing. Our first Scamp they disintegrated on gentle cycle. Also, if you’ve never tried to put Scamp covers back on the foam, I’d rather wrestle an angry bear. I now only use a hand held steam cleaner to clean cushions in place.

Woolite

Greg is right the old worn covers can fall apart. I use Woolite and wash the covers in a tub and hang them up to dry. If you wrap your foam in a dry cleaner bag or other thin plastic you can use a vacucum all the air out the foam and the foam slides right into the cover. You then can pull the plastic out the cover.

Turned out great!

I washed  our cushion in the tub with a small amount of detergent and borax, then rinsed and spun them in our front loading machine. I hung them to line dry and they look great. This is an extra cover so we plan to fill it with memory foam and use it as the back to the front couch.

The vacuum method works, but

The vacuum method works, but not quite as simply as they make it look in most of the videos. I'm sure it becomes easier and more foolproof with experience.

It took me a while to get the foam into my recently purchased custom covers, probably about an hour or two for four new covers. The larger cushions were the most difficult. This said, it was quite easy once you got all the sides to seal effectively. I resorted to buying some very large trash bags - worked easy with them. Would probably be easier with two people as well, I was working alone.
