undercoating?

Ellen and I picked up our new 13' Scamp on Tuesday. A day we'd been looking forward to for years.   We live in Minnesota and do not plan on being fairweather campers. So, I would appreciate some feedback on undercoating. What do people think pro and con. thanks

Under coating

Scamp wood floor rot from the top down mostly from leaks. The wood on the bottom of the trailer should be already be coated with resin from the factory. In the past Scamp has spared little expense on frame paint. The just make it black. When you have little else to do and want to ruin some clothes I would repaint your frame.  Do not park your Scamp and let grass grow up around it. It is best to park it on concrete or gravel so you have good air flow under the trailer.

Back to the orig question. Just my opinion. Escapes offer spray foam under trailers as an option. I kind of like to be able to inspect things and check for frame cracks and floor issues. Foam and undercoating could also complicate repairs. YMMV.

Winter camping?

if you are talking about winter camping, remember that some of your water system is outside under the floor.
