Doug,we live in Las Vegas Nv and will travel from here to Rice Tx,probably by way of Ks to see some family.If we would go straight to Rice its only about 1200 miles(we went 1700 to pick up the new scamp last year} We dont know where we will end up camping or staying so we always plan on our furnace.We have a little electric heater we have always kept in the campers but I cant remember a tine we have used it...Still we always carry it along..Yes I think 85 is to old not to take retirement but that working is what keeps some people young I guess.. Launeys brother is 74 and yesterday was on top of a grain elevator in Illionis putting on a new AC motor...we think he's stupid for working so long,he has retired from two jobs already and still out there working,but he loves what he does so to each his own I guess,
Wow! Vegas is such a neat place to live! I so love the west. Have been to Vegas several times in corporate flying and have always loved it. I had a late uncle no aunt that lived their last years out there and really enjoyed it. I know we would too! Your trip sounds interesting and fun of course. We would go out this weekend with the Scamp, but we have our annual Halloween costumes ride this weekend. Dawn does not wish to miss this. We each have our own Mazda Miata so it's a question of which one do we take!
I had someone tell me,"wow! I didnt know normal people lived in Vegas."...I replied,"Well I dont know about nornal people but we live here" lol....Really some people don't realize,there are normal people living normal lifes in normal houses and not on the strip or downtown lol{ Tho they are fun places for tourists.locals usually try to avoid it.We do unless we have company in that wants to go there for some reason.IT is a nice place to live,we only live here because of the winter weather. Notice I did not mention the summer weather,theres a reason for that...Have a great time on your annual Halloween costumes ride and then hopefully you can hit the highway soon with the Scamp
Yes, summers out west can be brutal. Watching the Monday Night game and it's in the upper 90's at game time! Still, with all the heat, you don't have to shovel it! We now have a snow blower and it is wonderful. We blow the snow off neighbors driveways! Hope it's a light winter. Yes, we are very anxious for,our next and final 2 trips for '15. This year we get to utilize our Cal Mark Cover! I will try to post pics of,our fall trips.

I made a new bathroom door so I put a rack on the inside. When the shower curtain is closed the towel stays dry, I hope !

We hang 2 towels on our bars and with the shower curtain pulled close the really do stay dry!
