Due to a modification, I need to remove 2 of the 3 bolts holding the spare tire in place. Can anyone one tell me if they have accomplished this or know how it can be completed? Thanks

Spare Tire (Bolt Removal)
Sorry, but this is what you are up against,

Thanks for the info. Not what I wanted to hear, but appreciate the cold hard facts! I think I can cut the bottom bolt off and accomplish what I need. Thanks Again.
We're considering an older Scamp 5th wheel, made in the 90's. Does anyone know the dimensions of the following:
Vertical distance from the ground to the gooseneck? (height of truck bed reference).
Vertical distance from the ground to the lowest point on the frame for the gooseneck? (bed rail clearance).
Vertical distance from the ground to the lowest point on the rear of the camper body?
Horizontal distance from the center of the axle to the above low point on the camper body? (these last to determine departure angle).
I had two fivers and this is from memory. The upper deck had a fiberglass lip that extends past and covers the deck frame. On the 85 with non lifted axle and 13" tires it was about 53" to the ground from the fiberglass upper deck edge. With my 2004 with 3" lift and 13" tires it was about 56". My 07 4x4 Frontier the bed rail was bed rail 49". With the 85 before the axle replacement I lifted the hitch and towed the trailer nose high. It's best to have 5" or more bed clearance. Measurements depend on axle condition. lift blocks and tire and rim sizes. For a 90's 5er you will want to check the axle mounts for cracking. there was a recall on that issue.

All of these depend on what axle the scamp is riding on, what spacers there may be or lift kit, and what size tires you are riding on. Frankly, it would be easier if you just say what truck you are thinking of using and we can tell you if we think it will work. Hint, you'll probably want to lift the axle, add some steps and some bigger tires if it is a newer truck.
