Hi,
I would like to know what brand names of awning that everyone have used and the most it can weigh. Do you put brackets inside of the Scamp?
Has anyone tried to use a awning that was too heavy that cracked the egg shell? If you did, did you put brackets inside to distribute the weight, and it still cracked? I would like to use an awning without posts because It won't always be on soft ground where I can use string and spikes.
Maybe I should have put this in Mod forum?
I'll be happy for your advice.
Sound like you are looking for a Shady Boy awning. Self supporting and light used mostly on Vans but some have been installed on eggs.

Thank you, I'll check it out.

I went to the factory for our awning. They now use the Fiama F45 awning. It does require one more attach point than the Dometic junk awning we had them remove. They were careful to place all attach points and bolts behind cabinets, where they cannot be seen. Not sure of the weight, but it is now what Scamp installs on all trailers, so I truly doubt it will crack the egg.

I just checked out the website, very nice awnings.
Thanks Doug

It cranks out very nicely and cranks right back in tightly. The old Dometic awning was terrible.

I looked at both sits, ShadyBoy and Fiamma. The ShadyBoy is nice once it is up but it looks like work for one person to get up. The Fiamma looks pretty good.
This list is GREAT! Thank you both for your reply,
