Road salt removal product recommendation

We just had our new Scamp delivered to us in Arizona. It was clearly driven a lot on salted roads on the way down here, and I want to get it taken care of soon, to avoid corrosion issues.

I've looked for professional services down here, but since we don't salt our roads in AZ I'm not finding anything. So now I'm looking at DIY solutions. Does anyone have any experience with removing salt from their trailer? Looking for product recommendations and application tips.

Thanks in advance!

We take our trailers to a self service car wash and spray the heck out of everything you can.  Under and above.  Get a couple of cans of WD 40 and spray all the metal parts you can after the water is dry from the wash.  Amzoil makes a product for this that doesn't attract dust.  I would rather have the dust than the soon to follow rust if you leave it the way it is.  Also you can take a hose with spray nozzle to it. A soft brush helps. Also driving it through a rain helps dilute the salt. Congrats on your new trailer.  Hope you have many good times with it.  Hoping it is warmer for you than our 9 degrees in Northeast Minnesota

Cleaning off road salt

Hello - not much of a trick to it. Water and whatever you'd use to clean a car. (The water does most of the work.) I brought my Scamp home this time of year several years ago. I just took a hose with a spray head to on an above-freezing day. It wasn't freezing, but still too cold for me to want to spend that much time with water cleaning the camper. (At least you don't have to wait for a day that is above freezing!) Even with my half-hearted attempt to clean the salt off I don't have any significant rust.

Enjoy your Scamp!

Thank you.

I appreciate the insight. We are full timers so next time we move I'll get it over to the wind style car wash and give it a thorough cleaning.

Should I be opening the fridge and water heater vents and cleaning in there? Do I need to be careful while cleaning this area with pressure?

Your last statement makes real good sense to me.
