Here’s a great way to monitor your electrical power onboard your camper. Most of the items here are gotten via eBay and Amazon at a very reasonable price. What’s nice about mounting in the door is that it makes for easy access to your gauges etc (from the back) incase there is a problem later.
I installed switches for most everything to give the option of saving power incase battery power becomes a high priority.
Update: the AC and DC gauges cover Voltage and Amperage and the gauge on top indicates battery capacity. I noticed it's hard to see the battery capacity meter, so I put a pic of it (you can see it better) under this sentence.

I take it the switches shut each of the guages off for sleeping time and/or boondocking drain?
I like it a lot, but it is very man cave. I'm not so sure I could sell it to the better half. Probably, if I agreed to allow a dust ruffle and seven pillows on the bed I might get this by.

Thanks and yes, ALL gauges and devices can be shutdown by the individual switches on the panel. The other day I installed a master switch to cut off the battery. This option stops putting wear and tear on the breaker switch and pulling DC fuses. I installed it under the sink and very accessible.

Where did you get your DC gages ? The previous owner had a large solar panel installed on the roof of our 16ft scamp unfortunately there was not any gage installed to moniter the battery ...... Any info would be greatly appreciated

Hello all. I just joined because I have been doing some upgrades to my father's 1999 Scamp 16 since he got it this past January. I am impressed with the construction of these trailers and the community of devoted owners. Don't see too many on the East Coast.
So regarding power monitoring, for those out there that are looking for a very powerful device in a small package you should consider the Doc Wattson battery monitor. Following the lead of John from http://justfinding.blogspot.com/p/scamp-19.html and some advice from an electrical engineer friend I installed this nifty unit. It gives you amps, watts, voltage, amp-hours (Ah), kilowatt-hours (Kwh) and peak amps and minimum voltage in a nice little package (only 2.8" L x 1.7" W x 0.83" D). The lower left data scrolls which is why you do not see all that I have listed above in the picture below. This is perfect for boondocking since having amp-hours is essentially a gas gauge for your battery and it only has a 0.007 amp parasitic draw. I wired this up to measure draw from the battery but it can also be wired inline with a generation device (i.e. solar panel) to measure what is going into a battery. If anyone needs further details about how this can be wired check out the website below or let me know. There are many variations but mine is simply wired inline on the ground wire just off the battery and powered off the positive with an inline switch to interrupt power to reset amp-hours (3-wire hookup graphic below). Where it says DC inverter this is just all of your DC loads (lights, furnace, pumps, 12V outlets, etc.)
