New Mattress

We just got back from 2 months in Texas and have decided to replace the Scamp Cushions and Memory foam topper. We keep the bed set up and have never used the table so probably will also remove the hardware.  The question though is where do we get the mattress.  Has anyone bought one, who did you use and how did it work out????

Scamp Mattress

Amazon has a Scamp Mattress in both sizes, but I thin it is pricey, so will make my own.

I did the 8" Spa Sensations at Wally and loved it. You can trim it with an electric knife like butter to custom fit.

Mattress

I agree with Greg.  I have one in my 16' Scamp Deluxe.   The mattress is easy to cut and takes just moments to do.  I took the Scamp pads, laid them on top of the foam to draw the curves at the back.

Bed Mattress

I have a 2000 13' Scamp which I'm preparing for extended travel in the near future.  Since it's just me and the dog, I'm moving towards keeping the rear dinette set up full time as a bed and installing a Lagun table on the front bench seat.  I was tentatively planning on putting a 2 inch memory foam topper over the existing Scamp cushions.  In reading this forum chain, it seems that a better idea may be to replace with a mattress.  Is that because of comfort issues, or are there other reasons to consider the latter option?  One of my concerns with even using the back as a bed is the potential difficulty in accessing the rear storage areas which I think is important given the limited storage capacity of the smaller Scamp.  I appreciate any insights you can offer.  Thanks!
