Mini Blinds in a Scamp?

The wife and I will be picking up our new Scamp 16 this coming June.  We are thinking that replacing the curtains with mini blinds might be a good way to end up with a "black out" curtain type of window covering.  If you have any experience replacing the stock curtains with mini blinds we would like to hear from you.   Robin & Loretta

Blinds

I had one trailer with the 1" aluminum blinds and they weren't a very good solution. Replaced them with the cordless closed cell blackout blinds which were awesome, but not cheap. Now, we get blackout curtain panels from Bed/Bath or Wally and use a glue gun to seam. This has been the best and easiest solution for us.

Mini blinds

Casita's use metal mini blinds. They make aluminum L brackets. One side of the brackets are attached  to two upper window frame screws. The blind frame sits on the L bracket and is attached with a screw. The bottom of the curtain is held to the camper wall with two 1" material straps attached to the Carpet/(Scamp/ Rat fur) usually with pins or hooks. The blind can get damaged and are fairly expensive to replace. They come pre- sized from Casita.

FWIW: The curtain rod bracket rivets are non structural with little load. Of all the Scamp's I've seen I have never seen leaks from the curtain rod rivets.
