Keyless Entry Handles

I just installed a Carmtek Keyless Door Lock Handle. Scamps are compatible with them for the new flat doors. I don't know about older Scamp doors. The Carmtek requires a hole that is 3.75 inches tall by 2.75 inches wide and is 1.5 inches deep (thickness). This is for all Carmtek latches, both the 10 digit and 8 digit models. The Scamp flat door accommodates this and it's a simple swap being a standard RV latch. This specific latch gives you the additional ability to lock the latch lever from the inside too.

Very nice! Was the standard

Very nice! Was the standard lock/handle set-up easy to uninstall? I'm not a big fan of the original and would love to replace ours if it isn't too much of a pain.

Yes, very easy...

The old Scamp latch comes out with you removing the 4 inside screws on the door and the 2 screws on the door plate. It comes out so easily that you will want to be careful about dropping it on the outside door finish. The new one goes in just as easily... The only real caution on inserting the new one is to be careful compressing it to insert the screws- you watch and maneuver the internal wires so as to not pinch them.
