Interior Light Replacement

Hi All! My husband and I recently bought our first Scamp, 1999 13', and we're just beginning the process of updating the inside. I'd like to change out the interior lights on the side of the cupboards to something more modern. Has anyone done this? I like these, https://amzn.to/2KSl6zJ  but they're a different shape than the originals and I wondering about patching the rivet holes after I change out the lights. I'd love to see what other folks have done.

Thanks!

One simple way, that would

One simple way, that would match how Scamp installed the ceiling light in my 1999, is to fasten a block of finished wood to the side of the cabinet, then attach the light to it. Easy enough to use the existing holes to screw into the wood from inside the cabinet, then just drill the appropriate holes for the new light through the wood block.

Scamp installs them now.

They are the reading lights and I like them, but they fell apart the first time out.

Lights

I’ve used very similar reading lights in several Scamps and they’ve been great. I really like Lyle’s idea of a mounting block which could add some flair as well as strength.
