Hi to all from new Scamp owners

Hi all and a happy holiday season to all.

We just joined the club this evening and wanted to say hi

We went and picked up our new 13 foot last weekend and towed it back 500 miles in a snowstorm. Wasn't a fun drive but we were really impressed with the way it towed in the snow.  We were also pleased with the Tekonsha P3 electric brakes.  Nice straight in line braking even on 6 inches of snow.  Towed a lot of camper combinations but this was the most stable I have ever towed.

Now we are looking forward to the warmer weather and putting the Scamp through its paces.

Hopefully we might cross paths with some of you later

Happy Holidays

Welcome and Merry Christmas!

What a great Christmas present!  Did you go out this morning to sit in your new Egg with a cup of coffee and a big smile on your face?

You probably already took care of this, but if you are from a warmer part of the country I thought I would mention it.  Your new Scamp probably has a good coating of road salt on it and will need a really good bath, especially the underside.

Merry Christmas!

Yes the day after we got back

Yes the day after we got back we washed it down totally as we had salt all over it.  So its pristine again. .

No we didn't go out and sit in it but we may go out and turn on the furnace and make a cup of tea later.  We are working at a food kitchen this morning.

We want to start customizing it a little more over the next few weeks.  Different curtains etc.

Can't wait to get it on its first real shakedown trip.

Welcome

Congratulations on your new camper. Looks like you had an adventurous first trip. Our 13 footer is on order and we are looking at a July/August completion date. Our tow home will be 1500 miles, but it won't be winter!!

New 13'

Congratulations on your new 13'. We sure love ours and it has brought a lot of adventure into our lives. Look into the trailer rally to be held May 31-June 4 at Blackhawk Lake Recreation Area in Wisconsin. Each year a group of us gets together. Last year we had about 60 trailers who met up in Egg Harbor. It's a great group of people with whom to spend time in the great outdoors.

Welcome

Welcome to the club.

On Jan 2nd of this year we picked up our 13 ft. It was a 481 mile drive up to Backus MN the day before...and then 481 miles back.

We were fortunate to not have snow falling. Have fun.

Welcome

I'm glad your snowy trip was a safe one. You've made me more confident that my February pick up go well, so thanks for sharing.

Making the Scamp your own and planning your warmer weather travels will be a wonderful way to spend the rest of the winter months. Have fun!

Salty Scamps

Exbrit49, Our new 2015 was delivered in February under very salty conditions. Temps stayed below well freezing ( we live in Maine!) into March so we were unable to wash it. In late March the first time we hooked up our TV the passenger side front marker light didn't work. The attached picture shows what we found. Apparently salt had gotten into the light of our brand new Scamp! We had other problems related to the road salt. For example: Salt got into the fridg controls and seized them up. We also had to repaint most of the frame and the two LPG tanks. CLEAN YOUR SCAMP WELL! GET THE SALT OFF!

Thanks for the info

Thanks athearn2.  We washed all the salt off the day after we got back. Living in Wisconsin and Indiana we are very aware of salt corrosion..

Luckily the weather was warmer after we got back.  We washed the gas tanks, the entire body and chassis. We washed it very thoroughly and will take note of your comment about the lamps and holders. Thanks for the info
