Just saying hello and introducing myself. I've been reading a lot on here for a few months as a non member. I decided to join up! I ordered my 16 foot Deluxe Layout A (side bath) last year, Sep 2021. My promise date is September 2023. Not sure if it will be a 2023 or 2024 model. I went all out and loaded her up with everything... finished up with blue seats and birch wood. I did the 30, 35 foot travel trailer thing with the kids/family but I am looking forward to a Scamp, fiberglass and a lot smaller setup. I have a Honda Ridgeline RTL-E to be the TV. I am a retired guy, empty nester living in Indiana.

Thx Greg... we are looking forward to it, can see the light now!
Welcome. We bought a used Deluxe 16 with birch paneling and almost everything on it. If we had ordered one new, we would have bought a scaled-down model because we are kinda cheap. However, we love all the bells and whistles now. You will love yours too. Good luck and good Scamping.
Thx Sunfish... the better half needs all the comforts of home to enjoy a camper! Microwave, upgraded stove, the oven, 6.0 fridge, a bathroom, A/C, heat, TV package, etc. I wanted dual LP, dual batteries, Mag wheels, outside shower, backup camera, electric jack, heat strip in the Air etc. Probably forgot some things but it is loaded, the Deluxe adds a lot to the Standard. I see in your picture you camp with both a dog and a cat. We will be too!!! How's that work out?
Hi Carl. Yes, we like more comfort now too. We make three 2,000 miles round trips to Minnesota a year. We used to sleep in the back of my van but enjoy getting a good sleep in the Scamp. We also like the Scamp bathroom so we don't have to park near a bathroom or go out in the middle of the night when it is raining or cold. Yes, we travel with a dog and a cat and it works well. They are like brother and sister--play together, compete for attention, and conspire against us for treats. The dog is ready to go in the car anytime. She is a Velcro dog and wants to be with us all the time. The cat didn't like riding in the SUV initially but during the past three years, he has adapted well and likes to navigate. I think he is trying to drive us crazy by making us wonder about this change in behavior. The cat wears a harness and is used to being tied out on a 50-ft leash at home or camping. He loves the Scamp and likes to explore new places. Although his name is Fearless, he is good natured. Our Vet says he is an amazingly self-assured cat. You will find that there is not much room in a Scamp. We try to keep the floor clear for walking. We containerize things we don't use often and place them under the trailer. The cat has claimed the stove cover as his perch. We don't allow him on tables and counters at home. The dog likes being on the bed and staying out of the way. There is not much room in the bed when one animal is a bed hog and the other is an immovable object. So, I often sleep on the dinette bed. We are all learning to use the space in the Scamp and enjoy camping together. I think your family will adapt to the Scamp and enjoy it.
Sound like tons of fun. I've wondered about and planned for many of the things you said... Abbey, our German Shepherd is a velcro dog too and loves everything associated with cars and traveling. Heidi, our cat will need to learn it a bit and we are working with our vet on meds for her while actually on the road. Car sickness or anxiety??? They were raised together too and are best buds.
Got the call from Scamp today! We are so happy and excited. Our September 2023 delivery (promised back in 2021) has become May 1st!!! We will get almost a full summer this year with our new Scamp. We are awaiting a 16 foot Deluxe, layout A... totally loaded! This is the layout with a front dinette so we can keep the bed, as a bed, all the time. We will have the leftside bath, shower, toilet. She will go into production next week. Our salesman said they stay really, really, close- to the dates so it shouldn't change much.
That is good news for you. Congratulations!
