Welcome.  We bought a used Deluxe 16 with birch paneling and almost everything on it.  If we had ordered one new, we would have bought a scaled-down model because we are kinda cheap.  However, we love all the bells and whistles now.  You will love yours too.  Good luck and good Scamping. 

Hi Carl.  Yes, we like more comfort now too.  We make three 2,000 miles round trips to Minnesota a year.  We used to sleep in the back of my van but enjoy getting a good sleep in the Scamp.  We also like the Scamp bathroom so we don't have to park near a bathroom or go out in the middle of the night when it is raining or cold.  Yes, we travel with a dog and a cat and it works well.  They are like brother and sister--play together, compete for attention, and conspire against us for treats.  The dog is ready to go in the car anytime.  She is a Velcro dog and wants to be with us all the time.  The cat didn't like riding in the SUV initially but during the past three years, he has adapted well and likes to navigate.  I think he is trying to drive us crazy by making us wonder about this change in behavior.  The cat wears a harness and is used to being tied out on a 50-ft leash at home or camping.  He loves the Scamp and likes to explore new places.  Although his name is Fearless, he is good natured.  Our Vet says he is an amazingly self-assured cat.  You will find that there is not much room in a Scamp.  We try to keep the floor clear for walking.  We containerize things we don't use often and place them under the trailer.  The cat has claimed the stove cover as his perch.  We don't allow him on tables and counters at home.  The dog likes being on the bed and staying out of the way. There is not much room in the bed when one animal is a bed hog and the other is an immovable object.  So, I often sleep on the dinette bed.  We are all learning to use the space in the Scamp and enjoy camping together.  I think your family will adapt to the Scamp and enjoy it.
