I was looking on the web at a 13' 2006 and it seemed like I heard that there was a fire around 2007, maybe, and that pre-fire 13' was shorter in height, maybe the other sizes too. Am I correct or I have looked for so long at so many trailers that I fried my brain? I tried the search, but didn't get it.

Height Change After Fire?
The fire was if I recall correctly was end of 2005 beginning of 2006. The only mold that got destroyed was the 13.
The pre-fire 13 was 5' 11" headroom give or take and they built a new 13 mold from the 16 which gave the post fire 13 a 6' 2" headroom give or take.
You do have to be careful looking at 13 models around that time frame to determine if they are pre-fire or post fire molds

Thanks, I thought that was the case. The smaller the unit, the more a couple of inches or feet in length make.

I have a 13 Ft 2006 model. My measurement from floor to inside roof is 5 ft 10". Measuring at the AC I got 5 ft 8". I've read that the fire was around the middle of Jan 2006. There were some castings of body parts finished and were able to finish them. I may have one.
I'm 6-3 and I do hit my head a lot but just love the 13 footer.
The EXTERIOR height on our 1973 13' SCAMP is right at 7' (no AC, and with the original, low-profile roof vent). By deflating the tires (to ca. 15#), it will slip through a standard 7' garage door opening. That allows us to park/store it in our garage (which is where it is now).
Thanks! I would prefer the shorter since no one tall is planning to go on the "Great Adventure". My biggest issue has been figuring out who is going and who isn't. The Durango is 72" high and the less over the top I think would be best. I considered teardrops also to keep the height lower. Now, I am down to the wire on making a decision.

When they started making the 13's taller, they also made them a few inches wider. If you like to stretch out when sleeping that is a good thing. The door is also taller, my forehead appreciated that. I think this is when they switched from the aluminum framed sliding windows to the newer crank out style. The older windows were very prone to fogging up and getting heavy condensation on the frames in the Fall and Spring. The newer windows are much better. The newer model is also probably about 3 or 4 hundred pounds heavier. Good luck with your Scamp shopping.
Thanks, Dave M. It would be interesting to see both side by side to compare just for curiosity's sake.
