I noticed my flame wasn't very blue and the fridge/freezer temp weren't staying low, so I went to clean the thermocouple. Now I have a nice blue flame but it quickly cycling between lit and not, multiple times in 20 seconds or so and won't stay lit for more than 3-5 seconds at a time. Any ideas?
Hi ASmith. I’ve never tried to clean one before. Don’t know if you should. Anyway, I don't know if camper thermocouples work the same way but my dad used to work on house gas furnaces. One trick he had was to just turn the end of the thermocouple around so the unscorched side is now in contact with the flame and the side that was in contact with the flame is facing away from the flame. Make sure you don’t kink the tube when you adjust it.
