It's been in for about 3 weeks and so far all is good!...EMS-HW30C Surge Protector Voltage Protection Remote Display Hardwired 30 AMP RVs
FYI: I mounted mine in/on rubber grommets do to the slight humming noise. You can't hear it unless it is totally quiet and I mean quiet. Since it is installed where I sleep, I decided to mount the device that way (rubber grommets). I've check another one and it did the same thing. By mounting it in/on the grommets, it's hard to hear even when totally quiet. The humming noise has to be the 60 hertz which is not a problem....
We had a new power converter installed this past summer. So far so good. It's a far greater power converter than anything Scamp ever installed! It's a great upgrade!

Did the old power converter fail? And what's the model number of the upgrade. I believe the upgrade converter has the Wizard built in (charging monitor)...
I wish I could remember, our old one was shot. Would not charge the battery when plugged into shore power. Kept, blowing fuses. Our new one has a cooling fan, new breakers and warning lights if a fuse blow. I have it shown on a previous post on the forum. Another owner did the same converter.

ok, thanks :)
Hey thanks so much so mentioning the hum.. I put one of these in also, next to the power converter, and then noticed the hum when I rested on the bed with my ear to the mattress. I was not sure if it was the converter or the surge protector but now I know and have a modification to do.
Glad to help :)
FYI: It was hard, but I was able to push very small grommets in the mounting holes of the EMS-HW30C Surge Protector. Plus I used a bigger grommet underneath the smaller grommet. I then tighten (only snug) it down with a screw and washer making sure I didn't crush the grommet.
The use of grommets was to stop any contact of the screws to the Surge Protector eliminating direct contact of the plastic case to the camper (Isolating most of the vibration of the Surge Protector). I'm sure there are better ways to do this...
