Dinette bench supports

Just for fun, look how bad this rot is!!Hi all!

I’m new to the forum but am in need of some advice. I just bought a 1996 13 and the rear dinette floor needs to be replaced. I’ve read every thread on this site and tore into it tonight!

One thing I came across that I haven’t seen discussed in other threads is loose bench supports. The thin OSB pieces that the bench screws in to is rotten and loose on both sides. I didn’t notice any rivets from the outside and I’m wondering how this is held in place. Any best practices for replacing it?

Thanks!

I'm no expert, but the bench

I'm no expert, but the bench supports are fiber glassed onto the side walls of the trailer. I would cut out the bad areas, then cut new pieces of wood and fiberglass them onto the wall, tying them into the existing support.

That rear corner of the floor also needs to be removed and replaced. Once the new wood is attached to the metal frame, you will need to fiberglass the walls to it as well. My understanding is that it is a fairy simple process.

I'm sure other, more experienced folks will be along to give you more details.

Bench supports

I have cleaned up and removed the old wood seat supports and saved the tabs. You can use resin to re glass the new wood pieces you make. You could also use West system six 10 epoxy filler. For a quick fix I have used Gorilla glue it is a polyester base glue it also foams up to fill the gaps. With Gorilla glue wet the wood and wall for better adhesion be for application. The Gorilla worked pretty good and it was a quick repair. If some of the seat support is still good just leave it and only replace the rotted wood. This should be is a quick and easy fix.
