Depends

Mary,

This depends on your consumption and battery type.

The first two sections of our new Solar Resource would be very good reading for you on lifestye and reducing power consumption. The battery section will be published shortly.

Most folks if not using furnace and have LED lights can go on standard Scamp battery about a week give or take, but again depends on you.

I get 4 plus days on all of

I get 4 plus days on all of my LED lights on my battery. We have the group 27 battery, about as big as one can get for the Scamp.

Battery powered fairy lights help

2 of 10ft (3m) 30 LEDs Fairy LED Wire String Lights - Starry Starry Lights w/ Timer Battery Box for Festival, Christmas, Wedding, Holiday and Party - Warm

Got them on Amazon $9.00 each string.  I have two strings of fairy lights inside my Scamp so I won't need to use my lights as much.  These are battery powered with 2 AA batteries.  I hung them from the ceiling over the dinette and the bunk in my 13ft.   I also replaced all light bulbs with LEDs.  Happy Scamping.

Light string hanging

Hi Wendy, what did you use to hang those lights? Pins?

I used these clips with two

I used these clips with two pins attached.  I pushed them horizontally into the RatFur about every 12" and then strung the light cord through the pinchy part.

I have two strings of lights -  I put one battery box with on/off inside the trailer near the entry door to the right and went up the wall, over the ceiling and down on the other side. As I step into the Scamp I can reach around to the right and turn on the lights.  I put the other battery box with on/off near my pillow so I can turn those on/off while laying in bed.

I recently bought a third string of battery lights for the outside of my trailer because I seem to be boondocking more.  I never have 110 AC to plug in my cute awning lights waaa.

Where did you get those clips?

Thanks, Wendy, those look nifty! And they'll blend perfectly into the Rat Fur, as will the little light strings. I'm going to be boondocking more often than not (mostly because my needs are very rudimentary, and I don't need a lot of amenities to be happy), so saving electricity is important. That said, my main reason for wanting these is mere ambience lighting. I want to string them all over the ceiling of my Scamp, have one or two people over (I'm going to a four-day workshop where a large portion of the attendees will be in tents, bwa ha ha), serve some wine, and jam on our fiddles in the semi-dark. I just think they're cute.

Another option might be to use solar-powered LED light strings; but I think they're too heavy for pinning inside the Scamp. Solar LED lights just come on at dark, automatically; I have them in the trees in my back yard year round, because they invite me to look outside, and remind me that my pied a terre is bigger than my mere house. (Visions of my little Scamp out there, festooned and inviting, in the summer night... but I'd have to figure out how to do it. Probably just plain old tape, once I'm parked.)

So, where did you get those little clips? They'll be useful no matter what I end up doing.

And when you placed the battery packs/switches, did you use sticky velcro tape?

Thanks again, Wendy!

to the original poster: I

to the original poster: I have two golf cart six volts tied together, sitting on the front A frame. I use only Led lights in the Scamp. run the water pump and a small fan . AC is strictly for when I am in a camp ground and can use air conditioning. I have a 100 watt solar panel on the root.I "had" a wired in Converter but it died this year. I wired a 10 amp battery charger directly to the batteries and connected to an empty breaker on the panel. If I need it I can just hit the breaker, assuming I am in a campground with electricity. I have not run out of power yet! as a side not I do need to use a booster to porvide more than 10 watts transmit power for my ham raido, but so far 10 watts has been quite enough when parked about 20 feet from the Gulf of Mexico...

We got,the new upgraded power

We got,the new upgraded power converter and for us, we like full service campgrounds. We like full hook ups, and always seem to find nice neighbors that desire to see inside our Scamp. We don't or haven't boon docked and may never will. I love the external AC power outlet for,my ham radio setup.
