Ever since we bought our 2016 13' front bunk the overhead cabinet doors would stay open. Handy as we searched for stuff in the cabinets. Then about 3 weeks ago, the cabinet doors would no longer stay open. So I ordered new hinges. The new ones could not keep the doors open either. So I called Scamp. They were puzzled with the call and called me back with "none of their cabinet hinges would keep overhead cabinet doors open. They have used the same hinge since the beginning." They even went to check the new Scamp in the lot with same answer. I called a second time, got a different person, explained the story and she said she would call back. Three days later and a followup call have not been returned.
I am curious if others had the same experience with overheard cabinet doors, either staying open or not.

Our 2020 overhead cabinet doors don't stay open, never have stayed open. I agree it might be nice if they did!
The overhead cabinet doors on our 2017 16' absolutely stay open! There is a "detent" built into the hinge that allows them to stay up with friction. It takes a small effort to close them, although one of ours does seem to have a "hair trigger". I think I remember an article here about either repairing or replacing the hinges if they quit staying open, but it was several years ago. I'm concerned that Scamp said they've never had these!
My 2005 Scamp (Lil Critter) overhead doors have never stayed open.
There have been several posts over the years from folks that have been creative and designed and installed different devices to hold them open.
Hopefully some of those folks will post.

My cabinet doors would not stay open and I was looking for a good solution, but did not like any of the levers or springs that people have installed. I filed a flat on the hinges so that the spring loaded friction pad (plastic) would keep them open at the 90 degree angle. There is already a flat there that helps to keep the doors closed.

My 2019 overhead cabinet door hinges do remain open with light pressure to close.

We prop ours open with a small pvc pipe cut about 10 inches long, that works well for temporary (while loading, unloading, etc.)
