Another air conditioning question.

My 2013 16' Scamp has a Dometic Brisk II 13,500 BTU AC. It will freeze you to death! On top of that it is loud and makes it hard to sleep. If you turn up the temperature the fan still runs too fast (and loud) even on low. I think 13,500 BTU is overkill for small campers. I see that Coleman makes a Mach 8  9,200 BTU unit and Orbital Machine offers a kit to reduce the fan speed and noise. There are Youtube videos showing the installation of each.

Does anyone have any experience with the Coleman that could give a thumbs up or down on it. Just wondering.

Coleman Mach 8

Glad to hear you have the Coleman Mach, is it an 8?  Was it a factory install? It is available in 9,200 or 13,500 BTU, I think the 9,200 BTU would be plenty. Check your owner's manual to see which you have. If you get a chance to see another Scamp with AC different than yours, ask to hear it run. Also check the video on you tube of the Orbital kit for slowing your fan down. You can also get info on the Orbital Machine website. I seldom need AC however my wife dose not like whatever temperature it is outside. Thanks for the feed back.
