Just had the Scamp factory replace my 2002 Scamp Deluxe 13' 16-year old centurion converter (toast) with a more modern Progressive Dynamics now standard in the new Scamps. I forgot to ask why there is an original 15AMP circuit breaker that is designated as "12V Battery" on the panel. If that 15AMP breaker is on does that isolate the battery from the converter? The system works perfectly with the circuit breaker off. With no electrical IQ, and before I get too deep into the wilderness, I would just like to know what that circuit breaker's function is if any with the new converter? Thanks. Jeff

15AMP battery circuit breaker
We picked up our 2017 16 at the factory last month so its all new to us. (no pun intended)
If I remember the orientation correctly at the factory the 15 Amp breaker for the 12 volt system shuts off power to the inverter itself. Never tried to test it out.......but made sense at the time.
In our setup the Power Dynamics service panel (breakers & fuses) has a dedicated 110v outlet on the back side (under the bench seating) where the invert plugs in for power. My assumption is the breaker shuts off that single outlet. Never had a reason to try it out.

Converter
Electrical device that converts the voltage from alternating current (120 VAC) to direct current (12 VDC) to run 12 volt things and charge the battery.
Inverter
Electrical devices that convert the voltage from direct current (12 VDC) to alternating current (120 VAC).
Voltages are nominal and will very a little from RV to RV and Campsite to Campsite. Having said this, I’ll be the first to tell you that I have an inverter that SAYS converter on it.
I have a 13' Scamp 2015 and my 15 Amp Breaker SIMPLY turns on/off the converter and ONLY the converter (On mine, the Breaker is connected to a receptacle on the back of the Fuse Panel that is ONLY used for the converter).
The AC 15 Amp Breaker does not isolate unless you have a special circuit being used (that am not aware of).
