Good evening friends. Looking for a a few things and hoping someone on here can help. I am looking for 1. What type of adhesive to use to glue carpet and padding back to roof 2. Best sealant to use around windows etc. I have my roof vent removed due to a lot of leaks. I saw on a forum somewhere not to use regular silicone but to use some kind of 3m sealant. Any ideas? 3. Looking for some marine paint to somewhat match this thing. It will be on the roof so not a huge deal to be exact. Just trying to get close.

Need some more advice

For a specific recommendation on any of the sealants listed, call the 1-800 number. I had a question last month re. curtains. The person who answered the phone was VERY helpful.

Correct to never use Silicone on Fiberglass trailers. Doesn't work and will leave a residual mess that takes hours to clean up completely.
For a roof vent reinstall there is only one sealant that you should be using Butyl Tape. If you feel like you need additional sealant on rivet heads or screw head around the vent use 3M Marine Caulk or Proflex or similar Dicor self leveling sealant.
If you do the reinstallation of the vent properly with Butyl Tape and Butyl tape the body of the rivets/screws when reinstalling you will have no need for other sealants. Be careful not to confuse the Butyl Putty Tape with just normal RV Butyl Tape. For a roof vent you will probably want a roll of 1" Width to do the job.
Same with the window pulls and reinstallation. The only thing you should be using on the windows is Butyl Tape before you reset them.
Also, on roof vent reinstallation, I always recommend putting a 1x frame around the inside of the vent hole between the liner and the fiberglass and glue it in place. Then you are able to use SS screws to reinstall your vent instead of rivets or screws that thread into the fiberglass. This creates a much stronger sandwich of the fiberglass shell between the wood frame and the vent frame and prevents spider cracking in the gel coat that can happen around vents. It also makes a future vent change simple.
Keep us posted.
