The tv is a 2010 Ford F-150 and it has both a 4 and a 7 pin connector. The Scamp has a 7 so that's what we'll be using. I guess we'll know once it's all plugged in. Trying it out tomorrow!

I think there are two ways to disable it on yours, you can disable it completely from the menu in the cluster...OR each time you put it in reverse on the cluster it may give you the option to disable it for that one time only. It should be in the book.
On my ’16 I pull both a scamp and a utility trailer and have never heard it. The book says the truck and the object need to be moving toward each other. The menu has the option of turning off the parking aid. NOTE ALSO that you need to change the DTE setting if you want accuracy.
