Does Scamp provide good insulation on the water pipes normally for winter camping being they are in Minnesota? Do they insulate the water lines at all? If not, what do you do to prevent frozen pipes when the temps dip below freezing? Can a little space heater be placed under the floor or in some vent to reach pipes some how?

Scamps insulated for winter camping?
Well, first of all, do you have a shower, potty, sink? All drain under the Scamp to a holding tank. They are exposed to,the elements and can easily freeze. Other than that, most water lines are interior.

what do folks do for winter camping to deal with freezing of their lines?
Some blow out the lines with compressed air. Others use RV antifreeze and some do both. I just read an article in a boating magazine and they suggested using cheap vodka, then you don't have to deal with the cleaning up the pink stuff in the spring.

Eddie, tell me you are kidding about using Vodka! lol

I'm still chuckling. A tad expensive, but vodka is great for cleaning stainless steel around the appliances and ah yes, chrome. ;and perhaps a tad for self. Everything looks shinier. Have a great weekend. Barb
first trip of the season cud be quite fun if you just fill the tanks n go.

We were thinking the same thing Greg, might have to stop along the way for a little refill, either of the tanks or us! what fun

I read it in Cruising World a while back. They did not like to deal with the pink stuff.

I am sure if trailers were made in Russia, the tanks would be empty upon delivery!

Would the little insulation if any provide the pipes from freezing if the temp dipped a little below freezing? Say 25F-32F? The Scamp saleman told me the units have Super R15 insulation. Is that the same value of the traditional R value measurement or some new marketing mumbo jumbo?
