- I don't like how the hose tube will yellow (and collect dirt) on the front of the camper....so I took it off. I never did any type of fiberglass before..but I have patched drywall ..and have frosted cakes before ...so how much different can it be...drilled off the head of the rivet...removed the tube holder..scraped off the caulk...cleaned with acetone...filled holes with a marine epoxy patch....ground surface so gel coat would adhere....filled....sanded...wet sanded with 2000 grit...

Removed the "stinky slinky tube"
Nice work. Did you have to do any color matching on ur gel coat? I know you have a new Scamp, but sometimes it can still be off.

I got the OEM gel-coat from Scamp. And with the holes being less than 1/4" in diameter....once they were wet sanded and buffed...the whole front just shines.
I must ask, why are folks so anxious to remove the tube? I painted ours, as it was yellowing. It came out great too. We are installing a tube holder under the Scamp as shown on the Forum. Scamp truly needs 2 drain tubes and the front holder sure comes in handy.

Doug,
We don't use our sink or stove inside..never have. ..so I wanted it off and clean and smooth.
If I had it my way I wouldn't have any snap caps on the outside of the trailer either... .If Scamp would have built one for me I would have paid another $2,000 because I don't like the "caps" all over that much. I asked in 2014 if they could build me a Deluxe that way and they said they would not. I hate having to go around each one of those snap caps with a toothbrush to clean the gunk from around them.
I am kind of a nut when it comes to polishing my camper, boat, or cars.
Also, we prefer no toilet or shower inside a small trailer due to condensation and "smells" if you know what I mean. And I am not keen on keeping black water tanks cleaned out. Just our preference but everyone has different needs.
