new scamp owner

hello scampers, the wife and i are the proud owners of a 1990 scamp 16'. one morning while browsing a Facebook page(northern Mi. buy, sell, trade) i came upon a scamp for sale. the asking price was $1500 so i made contact. after a few exchanged emails, a couple of phone conversations, and 4 hours, the camper was hooked to my truck.....for $1000.

there was minimal visible damage...ruined bathroom wall from a leaky window, which is now fixed, and a wet carpet from a leaky vent lid. new vent lid is in the mail as i type this along with snap caps. and other than the needed new screw and washing, this camper is in pretty good condition.

i have a couple of questions

will the roof support my 200lbs. when i replace the vent lid ?

is there any issue(s) i need to pay "special" attention to ?

Vent, Escape Hatch repair

No need to climb on the roof, you can get to most everything from a stepladder. You can lean on the roof off the stepladder but don't  put all your weight on the roof. If you are replacing the escape hatch you can do that from inside the trailer. Remove the regulator (two screws) use the arm two raise the lid until the wheel can be removed from the track through the hole. After the regulator is removed release the red escape latch, the screen and lid should open wide. Standing on the benches or step stool reach through the hole and unscrew the big screw at the end of the lid. The old lid should slide out. Install the new lid an reverse the procedure. While working up there you can check out the sealant on the hatch rivets.
