We have seen and been in the Casita and for us, they are much more modern and nicer inside than any Scamp! Much more storage space, a built in TV stand, and bigger windows for much more light to come in. They are brighter inside and again, much better storage space. For us, we highly prefer the Casita. Made by the brother of the Scamp maker. Both are Evelands. Hope we can see what you bring home!
Keeping repeating that part about there being more storage in the Casita Doug,I love hearing that haha...who doesnt need more storage in these lil guys. Guess it all will be a surprise, hopefully a pleasant one when we see it for the first time...Have 6 weeks to go after this Thursday,we have been so busy that havent even had time to get excited about going and getting it but that will come Im sure
I was reading on another forum about some people that had researched the Scamp and the Casita's from the 80s and it was some debate, that when Casita first filed in Tx for a bussiness license that one of the Evelands was listed as some sort of owner, then it was removed at some point later,by 1985 I think it was....I cant remember the name of the owner today but its not supposed to be an Eveland, there was a sister to the two Eveland brothers and I seem to remember reading that her and her husband was part owners...What do you think Doug? this is just what I have read
Well, let's put this to rest. I learned first hand at the factory from a Eveland family member that he taught his brother how to mold fiberglass trailers. It's true right from the horses mouth! Micheal Eveland shared with me the whole story. The fact that sister or other woman at the helm qualifies too for a minority owned business, qualifying for tax benefits as well.
Well coming right from the horses mouth,I would believe what he said.....We all know and anyone should be able to tell, that these two brands are very similar to each other :-) to similar in fact not to be joined at the hip at some point many years back perhaps lol...I knew Evelands still had the Scamp company, that's who owned it back in 81 when we had our other new 13 ft,but didn't know about Casita today, other then what I had read, which must have been all wrong. Im thinking that our salesman up there last year was married to a sister of them Think his name was Jim Coffland, very nice man
