Could you tell me where the door lock bolt riides on the striker plate. Mine still rides at the bottom of the striker plate. It looks like that hinge halves that are attached to the door are out of position pointing slightly up. Loosening them and repositioning them might gain a sixteenth or so.. The new nylon bushings 5/8" long helped a lot. I think I need to make another new set of bushings that are even longer.
I am going to use a template gage to compare the sides of the trailer for shape. It looks like there is a difference from side to side. Nothing under the trailer loose or saggy. If were to cut the fiberglass at the frame loose and push it outward on both sides of the door bottom the lower gap would go away. I will se what the template gage reveals..
The red pin stripe decals were removed by a previous owner. All I have as reference points are the visual recess in the camper side and the striker plate.
The original red stripe would have made a fine reference.
After having the 13' footer for 2 days I decided it was time to start fettling with the little furnace, after all it was below 60 degrees at 4 A.M. A bundle of literature came wth the Scamp. After many attempts it did light, however I would not light consistently. It was said that I should clean it out, well this morning I attempted it. Not knowing where to start, I blew compressed air into the furnace through the outside vents. It looks like there a couple of mud dobber nests included in the package deal. I then realized that all I accomplished was to push unkown debris into the burner.
So, back in to the camper, I removed the furnace cover and looked for a simple entry point into the burner. Removing the igniter plate seemed logical. Two of the sheet metal screws that hold the igniter plate on didn't want to budge and I didn't want to destroy them. So I removed the lower left screw and shot a jet of air thru it and replaced the screw. Now, it has not failed to light and I;m a happy camper again.
How exciting to,see the Scamp family grow! Hope you are as excited as we were when getting our little gem! Hope to see you at a Scamp gathering soon. Congratulations on your new to you Scamp!
Got a tip from the RV center. I was having no success lighting the hot water tank. I was told to first light the stove for a good gas flow, then attempt to light the hot water tank. They did this to check my system and it lit off just fine.

Scamper Campers
Are the door stripes aligned, or are they also low? A Picture would help.
