Propane use for Refrigerator

Hi All: Thanks for your help in solving a sulfur smell in our water heater and tank!  Your advice really helped a lot.                                   NOW we are having problems lighting the propane pilot for the refrigerator once we get into a campground without hookups.  We have a 2007 16 foot Scamp with the Dometic RM2202 refrigerator.  We have had no problems with running it on electricity, but cannot seem to light the pilot to use propane from our propane tank.  The pilot will not light.  We are pressing the "spark button several times without success.  Does the "spark device" need replacing?  Could we possibly light the pilot using a match?  I'm afraid to do this without further knowledge of the quantity of gas to the pilot.  I have asked Dometic for the manual through their website, but in the meantime, we are heading to a USFS campground in Washington State, and need some help really soon!  If anyone can help us with this, please reply soon, thanks!  Lupine

Lighting Fridge

Yes, you can light it with a match or a butane stove lighter.  If the propane has been turned off for a few days, light a stove burner to get the gas flowing in the lines first.  You may also have to wait for gas to reach the fridge while holding the button down.  Also, ours is much easier to light if we let the electric heating element cool down first.  If we've been running on 12V while traveling, I turn it off before checking in and don't try to light it until after completely setting up.  Sometimes, it's a two beer wait.
