Insurance

Who do folks use to insure their RV? We got a quote from Farmers Ins. for $125 semi-annually on a 16' 2015 Scamp, multi-auto policy with 500 deduct.

Would others mind sharing their info on insurance?
Thanks.

We have what's known as a umbrella policy for everything. Your rates seem to be very fair and just.

So Many Variables

There are so many variables in the cost of insurance: your credit rating (big one), location, age, previous claims, etc. We don't have a Scamp but that quote, versus what we pay for our pop-up in tornado alley, looks pretty good. KS tends to be high on everything, well, except wages. Always make sure you read your policy as the insurance companies have been reducing coverages and excluding a lot of things they used to cover. Are you getting full replacement cost with that policy? That is something to look at. I think the last I read, they did it for our policy until the unit was 5 years old. Generally, if you house, autos and camper on one policy, they give you discounts that really help reduce the premiums and if they don't, shop around. Never hurts to shop around but beware that some will quote low, you change to their company and the next year they will hike up the cost of the premiums to a point beyond what you were paying to begin with.
