No need to hookup up and break camp to dump your tanks or carry a large wheeled container...... This blue tote that can be purchased at Wal Mart or Amazon would come in really handy.
I ran across this article and while i didn't make one yet i will make one as it's really inexpensive and the compact storage makes it desirable.
It will hold 7 gallons at a time for transporting black or gray tanks...... Hope some find it useful

I am confused. Shouldn't the feed be at the top of the container?
Thanks!
Perry
Perry, I am certainly not an expert on this, but I don't think the feed can be at the top. If the tote were raised up to where the feed inputted at top, then it would be an uphill slope from the trailer to the tote. Liquid doesn't travel uphill very well!

No! the vent hole is at the top so as waste goes in the air escapes at the top...... I actually fill my fresh water tank like that as i have a hose connection on my drain at the bottom and i take the fill cap off up top on the FWTand as water pushes in the bottom the air comes out the top til filled
Hi Janea..... we where typing at the same time so missed your post at first :) You are correct..... If the container was standing straight up (vent and fill up top)and higher than the dump tank nothing would go in to the blue tote...... if the dump tank was higher it would work in a standing up position

Just reading about the blue tote and the movie RV with Robin Willams in it popped in my mind , as he asked the same question when he goes to dump his rental motorhome . We always watch this movie when we need a good laugh recommend it to any RV'ers We also actually witnessed a simillar scene in the movie when we were out camping in Deception Pass last summer
We saw a huge class A motorhome with a family of 4 break off the drivers mirrow , smash the rear roof vent with a low hanging branch, and proceeded to back up into an old growth Douglas fir and crushed all 4 very expensive mountain bikes on the back and rear ladder . The poor guy just leveled it didn't even get out and look . We really appreciate camping in our little camper van . And looking forward to getting our little 16 ft scamp restored .

I only have regular hose connection on my scamp, for gray water drain. Needs to go into something with non-leak connector. Hate to carry a big blue tote for kitchen sink water only
I bought a plastic 5 gal kerosene container from Wally's. Epoxied a female hose end onto the lid. Made a very short piece of hose up with male and female ends. I set the container on the ground right next to the Lil Critter's left tire and connect to the drain outlet on the side of the Scamp.
Easy hookup and easy unhook to carry the full container to a dump site.
Interesting side story...I carry the empty container hanging onto the back of the Scamp. While waiting in a long line up at the Canadian border one time, two Canadian boarder guards inspecting trailers in the line in order to speed things up pointed out that I was creating a fire hazard in case of a rear end accident. I have since ground off the flamable statement that was on the plastic container and painted the container a neutral gray color. Now I do not have to explain about my "gray water tank".
