I've got a 2022 Ram ProMaster City Cargo van that I'll be using to tow a 2019 Scamp 13. I just wondered if anyone out there has experience with this combination? I'm used to towing with four cylinders, and I think the manual shifting capability of the 9 speed transmission will be key.

Anyone Towing with a Ram Promaster City?
What is the tow rating of the tow vehicle?
Just enough. 2000 pounds.

If you do not have a different tv be careful of how much gear you pack in the trailer and van as you only have a couple of hundred pounds of wiggle room. You can also ask your mechanic for his advice too.
Thanks for the input. I've done a fair amount of towing with small vehicles including some with zero tow capacity per their manufacturer. I've never had a problem. Used a Scion Xa to tow up to 1200 pounds, including through mountain passes, and made it to over 200k miles before the clutch was due. My experience is that a lot depends on the driving technique and a firm understanding of inertia management.
When I look at the empty weight of the trailer (made the dealer weigh it), the empty weight of the van, the GVWR, and the GCWR, it's not bad. If i loaded the trailer up to 2000 pounds (it's 1700 empty) I would have 400 pounds to spare in the van. I don't plan on adding much weight to the trailer , so I should actually have more like 600 pounds to spare in the van.
i was really just wondering if anyone out there had direct experience with a ProMaster City Cargo.

Enjoy your scamp!
Our tow vehicle (Jeep Cherokee) has the same tow limit, 2000 lbs, and we have had no issues with our 13 scamp deluxe, but we do keep the gear low in weight. It helps that I was a backpacker for years....
Thanks!
