2022 Scamp on order

My Scamp 16 layout 6 was ordered last Feb.1st, but still no word on when to expect a call from the factory to firm up the final specs.  My sales guy at Scamp did not seem to have any idea of the latest updates. Can any very new Scamp owners give me info on their latest wait times?  Patients is not one of my strong points, but as any new owner would know l can hardly wait.  Up to date nfo would be appreciated.

Scamp order

We ordered ours on 12/8/2021 and we got word last on Tuesday that it is finished. Now we are waiting for the weather to improve. Ours is a standard 16' layout 4. Hope this helps.

You'll probably be contacted soon

I was contacted by email, so you might want to be watching your emails closely (if you gave that as your contact), to make sure it doesn't go into a spam folder or you accidentally think it's spam and don't look at it.  I just happened to call them minutes after I received the email, but I had not looked at it...and quite honestly just looking at the email subject line, I would have thought it was spam. I'm not sure how they schedule the production for the Scamps, but he did mention that the person who was in charge of scheduling was needing more 13's for the next production.  And if I confirmed my order yet that day, it would then be ready to build.  You didn't say when your 16' was originally scheduled to be done, but based on my experience, I would think you should hear from them very soon.  Maybe Scamp isn't quite ready to start on the next run of 16's.  Like I said, be sure to watch your emails closely.

Pre-order or wait list?

I am having trouble deciding between pre-ordering a scamp and getting on the wait list. The salesman said the wait for an order is possibly two years but there is no certainty about when you might get a call with the waitlist. It's killing me! Could you guys give me some advice?

We just took delivery on Feb 4th.

We just took delivery of our 16ft Standard a few days ago after an approximate 16 month wait.
I agree on watching the email inbox, most correspondence was handled this way. Which is often my preference anyway.

Here is the rough timeline:

When we ordered we were told an approximate delivery week. Then were told we'd be contacted 8-10 weeks prior to delivery, at which point we needed to commit to our exact build and options and our delivery week was given. Within a week or two your trailer is actually in production and will be done at the end of the 8-10 weeks period. Ours was done within the margin of error, at which point we had it delivered to us.

What I learned or maybe inferred about the groupings of trailers.

Basically they group production by weeks and each week they produce X trailers. Because they are produced by people in small batches, they try to group as many similar trailers as possible. For example they try to group all the 16ft layout 4's into a batch. I suppose this helps with overall speed and to less human error?

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can answer anything else.

Wait list vs pre order

Kim...Why not do both?  Pre order your Scamp and get on the wait list.  If a Scamp becomes available for you before your ordered one they will refund your deposit.

Scamp on order

Togetherness...I was contacted by voicemail on my phone when my order got moved up. (by 6 months).  Don't wait until the last minute to make any changes other than minor ones.  I wanted to change my cooktop to the drop in glass top but was told that would be a different cabinet and the change could not be made.

The wait times have so many variables including supply shortages, worker shortages and number of canceled orders.
