Hoosier 13’ Scamp Tour?

Hi everyone,

New member here. My family and I are very interested in getting our first camper. I have been interested in scamps for some time - I like how simple & lightweight they are. So I know this is a big question to ask of a group of strangers but would anyone be willing to give my wife & I a tour of their 13' scamp (preferably the standard no bath, front bunk model) in Indiana?

Since used scamps are soo hard to come by I would really like to be 100% sure the 13 footer will work for before we start our search.

Thank you!

Tom

Michigan Scamp

We are not all that close either, depending on where you are in Indiana.  We are nearly straight up I-69, two hours north of the MI/IN state line.  We have the layout you want to check out, 13' no bath with bunks.  It is tucked into the back of our pole barn...if you were interested in making the trek I would have to go out there to see how my husband parked it.  He may have blocked the door from opening.  How many in your family?

Thanks for the offers!!

Thank you both for the very generous offers!

Rriebow we are in central Indiana around 2hrs south of the IN/MI line. There are 4 of us - our 2 boys (17months & 4years) & my wife and I. I think the 13 will be a great starter trailer for us while the boys are young. We will probably take you up on the offer if we can figure out a date that works - do you have a preference?

C'mon up

Hi Tom:

Its too bad you can't find one closer!  You are welcome to come up if no one else pipes up though.  My husband said he can pull it forward so you can get into it.  I travel a lot so a Sunday would be the best bet.  Pick a day with good travel weather that works for you to check out if a 13' is cozy or cramped for your family.

I will message you also.

A-Liner vs Scamp

I had checked out A-Liners several years ago pre-Scamp, and camped next door to one with dormers this past year.  I don't think you gain a whole lot of space, and in order to get one with bunks you jump up in weight--around 2200 lbs vs 1100 lbs on a 13' Scamp.  I have seen plenty of young families camping in tents or small trailers.  One family sticks out in my mind--they adored camping in their 16' Scamp.  Two adults, two pre-teen girls and a big Bernese Mountain dog!
