This is my first weekend out with the Scamp 13 equipped with the furnace. It starts up fine and works well until it shuts off. Every time it shuts off it makes a loud rattling sound for about 30 seconds. Is this normal?
EDIT 2: I took it to a local RV dealer/repair. They removed the furnace and determined that a panel in the back was loose. Diagnosis couldn't be made until they removed the furnace so the cost to repair was just a bit over the "diagnostic fee." Since my SCAMP is still under warranty, this was a covered repair.
EDIT: sorry for the delay, got a bit busy and couldn't take my camper out for a while. After a few back and forth "try this..." with Scamp, I sent a video and I've been advised to have a pro look at it. I'll make an update once we know the details.
Here's the video for your reference (I think you have to copy and paste the link.
from our experience over three years with 2017 13’, I would say it is not normal. I will Leave it to others to diagnose the problem.

I don't know what is normal for furnaces in scamps. All I know is that my furnace does the same thing as your's. It makes a rattling noise for about a minute when shutting down. The furnaces seem to have a reputation for being noisy to begin with, but this is an additional noise. I always thought it was normal but am now curious as to whether or not it is a problem that can be fixed.

Thanks Wayne. Kind of good to know that I'm not the only one! I'll update after I call Scamp and/or the furnace company.
Is this on your new Scamp? The blower will run both before and after the heat cycle but getting noisy when cold is more of a “getting old’ thing. Sometimes dust in the blower has caused it to be out of balance, or the bearings need oil. My 20-year-old furnace in my doublewide does it. I’d investigate it while it is under warranty, it may be something simple like the front grill loose. Mine fell off when new.
Yes, this is new. I got my Scamp delivered in mid November and this past weekend was the first time out. I'm going to call Scamp and possibly the furnace company to find out more. I'll keep you posted.
