Curtains

Thanks, XBeatzX! I can't visit the factory in advance to see the drape brackets & rods, so I really appreciate your first-hand knowledge. I like your bungee solution, though it sounds like starting without those default curtain rod holders might be even better, cleaner.

If I were to delete the usual drapery brackets in my order and later customize a window covering, I'd like my modifications to have minimal impact, and possibly be reversible. Possible strategy: Attach a trim board (~1"x2" on  narrow edge?) onto the top of the window frame, using Gorilla tape or velcro (or superglue?). Then screw a new bracket into that top wood piece; bracket would hold a roller or pleated shade custom-sized to each window. Does that sound do-able? Other ideas? (I don't need to figure out all details ahead of time, but need enough information to decide whether to omit the usual brackets from my order.)

I'd be grateful if you (or anyone) would be willing to post some close-up pictures of the drape brackets and their positioning in relation to the windows. I've scoured the Internet (and this forum) to find good pictures showing the naked brackets & rods; the spacing between brackets and windows; and the vertical and horizontal lips around the Hehr windows. Alternative to above--could you drill new shade holders/brackets onto window frame w/out damage? Also, how bendable are the default brackets if you wanted to use them as an anchor for new brackets and a different shade?

Thanks in advance to you and others who might reply.

PS: Why don't you like the splash guard? What would you use instead, to minimize splashes and cooking stains on the rat fur?

PP Riser!

Most of the PPs are too low.  I made a step to help our old knees getting in and out of our Scamp. The step is about 8 inches high. Normally it stays on the ground outside the door but we can also set the PP on it for more comfort. Very similar to what ELongest has done.
