Scamp Christening

After sailing on the Columbia River for over 30 years with three different boats we thought we should carry on the marine traditon of performing a Christening ceremony for our Scamp.  Unlike our last boat which required a formal de-naming ceremony prior to Christening the Scamp had no name from the previous owner so this ceremony was a bit simpler.  Borrowing from the traditional naval toast my wife Jeanine wrote the following:

Oh mighty and great ruler of all the roads that we shall travel, mountains we shall climb and to the destinations we shall venture to, take unto your records and recollection this worthy recreational vehicle and hereafter and for all time be known as R Tardis, guarding her with your mighty arm, ensuring her safe and rapid passage throughout her journeys within your realm.    (Pour the offering and share with all around)

From now until forever  R Tardis :   You’re off to great places,  Today is your day

Your mountains are waiting, so….. get on your way!

Happy Trails from the crew of R Tardis

A Christening

Wow a Scamp with no name, unheard of.  surprise

You did the right thing. Did you smack it with a bottle of champagne, roll it down the driveway and launch it in the street?

Happy Trails to R Tardis and her family.

R Tardis?

Wayne,

LOL, you asked the question I was afraid to ask....  surprise

Tardis is a time machine if I recall, but not sure if that was where they were heading. Could be an interesting answer.

All you need

I like when folks take the 30 second tour of the Scamp 13, when they exit they almost always say "Well, it's all you need."
