AC unit came loose on first road trip

Greetings all.  My first post here.  I bought a 2011 13 Scamp a couple months ago and during October took a 3200 mile road trip.  About 2500 miles in I noticed the AC unit had come loose and was moving around on top of the roof.  The interior grill assembly was dangling and being barely held in place by two of the long screws.  With help I was able to get it repositioned properly and tightened back up without damage as far as I can tell.  Has anyone else experienced this problem and what is the permanent fix?  Thank you for your time.

over time

The gasket compresses over time and can loosen.  I had a similar situation years ago on our motorhome but it showed as a water leak in a huge rain first.  I just started checking the hold down bolts once a year when I remove the inner cover to clean the filters and and they are only made snug since the gasket slowly compresses. They usually stay tight for years no issue.  Another factor in things coming loose is wheel ballance. If badly out of ballance things shake and rattle loose even faster.

Thanks.  I had the tires

Thanks.  I had the tires balanced before the trip, but will double check them.   I tightened the screws, maybe too much.  I think I may use some loctite on them and use your advice about checking regularly. Also am looking at how I can use a jam nut on each screw to lock it in place.   My height is such that I can just stand up in the trailer without hitting my head.  When I hit my head on the AC that was my first clue.

I'm looking forward to learning the wisdoms from this community.  Thanks again for your advice.

loose

Not sure if the gasket sags/compresses or screws  loosen but likely gasket first To over tighten is not your friend either!
