When our gray water tank gets about half full both the kitchen and Lavatory sinks start to drain slowly. This makes me wonder if the tank vent is working properly. Does anyone have an idea of how to check the vent? I am thinking of using an air compressor and back blowing through the vent into the empty tank with the drain open, Any ideas or experience?

Gray Water Tank Vent
If you have the newer (black in color) grey water tank the vent line comes up through the floor under the curb side dinette bench the line makes a loop and goes back through the floor. The hose may be kinked, have a dirt dibber nest in it or an un drilled fitting. Sometimes when you get a new tank the fittings are glued to the tank and you have to drill out the hole entering the tank.The Lav sink should drain to your shower drain pump, not directly to the tank.

Thanks Eddie but we have an older unit with a vent-overflow out the upper side, back of the tank. I kind of explored it with a piece of soft copper wire and found that it has an elbow or baffle inside of the tank. I did open the drain and shot compressed air into the vent and my wife could feel a good amount of air coming out, so hopefully I cleared whatever obstruction there was. Now we are hooked up and are off to Yellowstone and then Glacier in the morning.
