Today I found out the these pads (extra durable variety) work well to restore yellowing white plastic on exterior light units.
It also cleaned up the white spare tire cover better than soap and water and a brush.
I am sure there are also other remedies that may work well for both.

If yours is still white or you get it to go back to white you should wipe the plastic pieces about every 3-4months with 303 Aerospace protectant.
If you can't get the plastic back to white there is a very simple fix. Fusion plastic spray paint Dover White Take the part off or mask it and hit it with the Fusion Plastic paint and it will restore it to better than new. The Fusion also has UV protection and it doesn't seem to fade again once you've sprayed the part.
I had a yellow AC cover on the interior of my 5th wheel. Took it off, shot it with Fusion and it looks better than brand new.
