Time to get started on the Allure vinyl plank flooring project. We used Allure Cherry on our 13 Scamp, and we picked Amber Ash on this one, because the graining matches the wood graining in the Escape, yet brings some darker contrast into the interior.
Here is a shot of the current 8 year old neutral vinyl flooring and all the tools you need to install the Allure flooring are, a tape, razor cutter, and a straightedge. All you do to cut the pieces is to measure, score it with the razor cutter several times and snap it:
After loosening all the base cabinets in the back of the trailer the first step is to lay your base rows. This is a floating floor, the only adhesive is pre-done at the joints and all you have to do is stick it together. The biggest issue when you lay the floor is to make sure you get your seams really tight and then over the next week the adhesive makes it more permanent. The seams on our Scamp 13 were so tight you could pour a pitcher of water on it and it wouldn't seep into the sub-floor.
Once your base rows are in you just continue across the section. On this flooring I'm having to try and match the graining as close as possible on each piece, but it won't be entirely possible. I'm running the grain down the length of the trailer rather than across because it makes a small space seem larger to go that direction.
That's where I am at the moment between NFL playoff games.

Nice work! I installed Allure in our 13' several years ago and we've been very happy with it. It took me a bit longer to install than I anticipated for such a small space, but I'm glad I took the extra time and care to get a clean and tight fit.
A few questions: Did you remove mouldings first and then replace them? Could you re-use the metal piece that covers the dinette-to-step vertical edge? What did you do with regard to the far left edge in the dinette area? Did you just slice one long piece? I would imagine that this would add extra insulation to the floor area as well as making it very attractive. With the Allure, can you lay out the pieces without having them stick together to help figure out how they will fit?

I didn't have any moldings per se, just some kind of strange rubber edging that the Allure went right up against. I then put a quarter round that matched the cabinets for molding where necessary and shot it in place. I did reuse the metal strip in the dinette transition. I pulled all the benches and lifted them up and the flooring goes completely under the benches to the exterior walls. You can see this much better in the Insulating Benches post.
The Allure is a dream to work with and you just need a measuring tape, a straight edge, and a very good razor cutter with lots of spare blades. All you do is score it with the razor cutter a few times and then it snaps where you score it. When I did the Scamp 13 it took about 4-5 hours. This one was a bit tougher and took several days of off and on working on it. It makes an amazing transformation on the interior and the stuff stands up to just about anything you can throw at it.
FYI, this particular job required 3 cases of Allure flooring of which I used about 2.5 cases. It was around $45 a case and then about $15 of quarter round.

I was always concerned about water turning that stuff to oatmeal so i took a sample piece of it and dropped it into a bucket of water. Three days later i pulled it out and it was in perfect condition with no swelling at all................ Good Stuff

This flooring is available from Home Depot, they have several colors/styles on display in the stores and several more choices available from HomeDepot.com. The Allure flooring is also available with tile patterned options along with the wood-plank flooring choices. They also have an "Ultra" product line which has a Ceramic surface layer which will probably make the flooring indestructible !!!

Allure comes packed with thin paper seperators. You can dry fit Allure buy placing the paper over the glue surface. To get tight joints I place the planks tightly together with paper over the glue surfaces then then slide the paper out from between the glue joints once things are lined up. You can seperate the planks if they were not lined up properly and let them reglue themselves but I usually have issues with those joints later.

We just followed your* lead and put in the Allure flooring. The Pacific Pine looks awesome in our trailer. I'll try to post photos when once I download them. We have one corner near the door where we were having trouble fitting the pieces and had to pull it up. Now it is lifting a bit. So, how did you deal with the issues you had? Construction adhesive, supper glue, #6 stainless steel screw?
Also, I miscalculated the floor space and only ordered 2 boxes. It was barely doable in our 19 foot scamp, but I really wish I had ordered 3 boxes. Would have saved some stress. I mention this because I'm really hoping your solution is not to replace the piece. I don't have any replacement pieces!

I love the Allure flooring for trailers as you can tell. The pine looks awesome installed.....
I'd just use some liquid nails or something similar, and a weight on the part that is lifting for about 24hrs. That should take care of it.
